Life with Norielle Aurelio

I remember one of the first conversations that I ever had with Norielle was in Geisel Library while we were studying for Calculus. We talked about how God had somehow ambushed us both to UCSD and neither of us had really expected to end up here yet that’s what happened.

Two years later we found ourselves living together for the summer and this blog-post was born.  Amen.

I suppose I should remain true to the title and expound upon life with Norielle, whom I will from this point forward, refer to as Nori. (While she sleeps we call her Snori…I jest I jest, though I do call her that for fun from time to time.) To be honest, living with her was all kinds of strange for me at times because it kind of felt like I was living with myself. We have similar living habits with the messy not dirty policy, we sleep early and rise early, watch the same Jon Thurlow prayer sets and seem also to have developed this nonverbal communication where we just “know”. Yeah, slightly creepy…

So for a month, I lived with a shorter, Filipino version of my living habits (Okay, lie. She is slightly cleaner than me at times)

Because we were only roommates for a month, this sweet harmonious bliss was short lived. I was glad to have a friend who I could talk about Ph.D’s, grad school, professors and schoolbooks about when I got home. There was also that one time we decided to go to the park at night and got bitten by mosquitoes even through our clothes which was QUITE the bonding experience. There’s nothing like suffering together that builds deep relationships. :D

Mucho love to my one and only NORI, you will forever have a place in my heart…and my room!
